Overview:

 

At Granger Owings we are seeking a skilled and detailed oriented Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. As a tailor you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments that are to the stylists specifications/markings. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for fashion. Responsibilities:

 

• As a Seamstress/Tailor, you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments to meet customers specifications

• This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for fashion and garment construction.

• Perform garment alterations which will include hemming of pants, shortening coat sleeves, and taking in the sides of a coat or suit

• Use sewing machines and other tools to sew fabrics and create a finished garment

• Follow instructions of the sales people on what needs to be altered on the garments

• Maintain a clean and organized work space

• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment

 

Qualifications:

 

• Experience in alterations & garment construction

• Proficient in using a sewing machine and other sewing equipment

• Basic knowledge of garment construction techniques

• Ability to accurately measure and perform basic math

• Excellent attention to detail & craftsmanship

• Ability to work in both a team environment and independently once trained and manage time effectively
