A Greenville, S. C. native, he came to Columbia in 1974 and has been in business on Main street since his arrival. Jimmy Rogers Jimmy is a 1980 graduate of The University of South Carolina. Jimmy was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Omicron Delta Kappa fraternities. Jimmy joined Granger Owings in 1981 as a Partner. His niche – classic, traditional clothing. Vaughn "LV" Granger Vaughn, Jr. graduated Cum Laude from The University of South Carolina. Having earned a major in Marketing & Management and a minor in Retail, Vaughn joined Granger Owings as a Partner in 2006. His niche – modern business. Travis Hollis Travis grew up in South Carolina where he attended Ridge View High School in Blythewood and later graduated from The Citadel in Charleston. In 2007, Travis joined Granger Owings, helping clients build a quality wardrobe with comfort & style, for any occasion. He is married to Emily Hollis and has one daughter, Lizzie.

With over 45 years in the apparel business, Granger Owings is a trusted name in custom clothing and client experience—this is an opportunity to be part of something established, respected, and growing. Responsibilities: As a Seamstress/Tailor, you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments to meet customers specifications This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for fashion and garment construction. Perform garment alterations which will include hemming of pants, shortening coat sleeves, and taking in the sides of a coat or suit Use sewing machines and other tools to sew fabrics and create a finished garment Follow instructions of the sales people on what needs to be altered on the garments Maintain a clean and organized work space Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment Qualifications: Experience in alterations & garment construction Proficient in using a sewing machine and other sewing equipment Basic knowledge of garment construction techniques Ability to accurately measure and perform basic math Excellent attention to detail & craftsmanship Ability to work in both a team environment and independently once trained and manage time effectively Note that this job description provides a general overview of the responsibilities, requirements, and skills needed for the position of Seamstress.
